Hiking around Heber Springs
There are some great hiking trails in the Heber Springs area including Bridal Veil Falls and Collins Creek Trail.
Collins Creek Trail in Heber Springs, Arkansas is a 1.2 mile “down and back” trail.
It’s an easy trail that is good for all skill levels. Our 8 and 5 year olds had no problem on this trail and I found it extremely easy to hike while carrying our 2-year-old in a sling on my hip.

Visit the JFK Overlook of Greers Ferry Dam
The JFK Memorial Overlook is a beautiful place to visit anytime of the year but if you go during the Spring, the field of daffodils are in full bloom.
The view of the Dam is majestic from the overlook. While standing on the overlook platform, it’s hard not to feel like you have stepped back in time.
The Greers Ferry Dam was the last thing President John F. Kennedy dedicated before his assassination on November 22, 1963.
It’s worth a visit for the view and the history.
Trout Fishing on the Little Red River
There’s nothing like wading out in the cold waters of the Little Red River to do a little trout fishing. The calmness of the area and the cool air off the water can bring peace to any restless mind.
The Little Red River is one of my favorite places to be. The scenery is breathtaking and the fishing is excellent.
In fact, you will find premier-class trout fishing on the Little Red River.
